Due to government guidance our museums and galleries will be temporarily closed from 5 Nov until at least 2 Dec. The grounds at Kirkstall Abbey, Temple Newsam and Lotherton remain accessible for use in line with government guidelines. Where possible, our cafés will remain open for takeaway only. Please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

An exhibition showcasing photographs taken by members of the Camera-arderie Photography Group.

The group met working on ‘A Shared Place’, a year-long collaboration between Holbeck Elderly Aid and Carers Leeds. Facilitated by Skippko, this project culminated in an exhibition and book publication in February 2020. The group developed new skills and grew in confidence as they learnt how to take control of their cameras with the support and expertise of artists Nicki and Sally.

They visited Leeds Industrial Museum during the project, and soon after were commissioned to create a photo booklet for the current ‘Leeds to Innovation’ exhibition.

The museum is delighted to be able to share this display of their photographs, which members of the group have been actively involved in curating. It is the result of their talent, hard work, and commitment both as individual artists and as a group of friends.

Camera-arderie are: Deborah, Heather, Ian, Jo, Mary, and Tony
