Leeds Central Library, The Portal, 2nd Floor

Calverley Street, Leeds, LS1 3AB

Presented by West Yorkshire Queer Stories, a Heritage Lottery-funded local history project, which aims to preserve LGBTIQ+ heritage in the region.

It's back to school as Prof. Nipper (one of the country's most fabulous etymological historians) delivers a class on Polari, the secret language of gay men. Expect a unique insight into the socio-cultural influences of this parlance, once widely used by a persecuted minority.
