Here at Open Source Arts we are big fans of pedal powered transportation, which is why we're marking Bike Week 2018 with our very own Bike Night event.
Bike Week encourages people to rethink their everyday journeys and get on their bikes - it's a great opportunity to highlight the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, and Bike Night at OSA will be no different!
From 5-8pm there will be a drop-in FREE bike maintenance cafe, with mechanics on hand to give your trusty steed the once over. Our lovely veggie / vegan cafe upstairs will also be open, offering tasty grub, coffee and cakes for those in need of some sustenance.
At 8pm we will head off together on a Reclaim the Canal bike ride into town! There we'll stop for fluid refuelling, before either riding back up to OSA together or heading homewards, depending on your preference/where home is.
The stretch of the canal we will be cycling has historically been perceived as unsafe, particularly later in the evening, and this solidarity bike ride aims to challenge this by riding together and reclaiming the area.
Following the event we will launch a Reclaim the Canal Facebook page where groups of locals can organise to walk or ride along together.
Please join us to celebrate pedal power and community along the canal towpath!
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.
The downstairs level is accessable by wheelchair. The upper level where the dance studio and cafe are situated is not.
