Along with colleagues at the University of Leeds and in Belgium,Alison Fell has been running a project called ‘Tracing the Belgian refugees’which aims to collect stories of some of the 200,000 Belgian refugees who cameto the UK during the First World War. She will share some of these stories inthe talk, focusing in particular on family life and relationships betweenBelgians and their British hosts in Leeds and Bradford.
