30 years of Skippko
4 Feb 2019 - 4 Jun 2019
Skippko is an arts organisation based in Holbeck, South Leeds. Formed in October 1988 by two female artists they have, for the past 30 years, committed themselves to developing creative projects with communities across Leeds and the North of England.
Skippko have twelve artists all of whom are experienced facilitators as well as being high quality arts and creative practitioners. They develop bespoke programmes of work in cooperation with an individual community, often collaborating with a partner such as Leeds Libraries & Information Services, Leeds Museums & Galleries, Leeds International Piano Competition or M&S Company Archive.
The exhibition at Leeds Town Hall tells a brief story of work spanning those 30 years from early visual arts and movement workshops, to large banners commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the NHS, recent media work with Carers Leeds and, arts work in four branch libraries in Leeds (which is still being exhibited in Skippko’s new Greek Street Exhibition Galleries). The final panel illustrates the programme of work Skippko will be delivering in 2019-20.
For further information about their work please call 0113 234 5355, visit the website www.skippko.org.uk or contact director, Arthur on email@example.com or arts project manager, Cath on firstname.lastname@example.org
