Last week I stumbled across Liz West's light installation 'Through' at &Model Gallery. I say stumbled owing to the fact it was a grizzly Leeds evening and I'd left work late, determined to get to the bus stop without any interruptions; not even by an unexpected arrangement of supersized glo-sticks casting their fruitpastel light from a three storey building. The surprise of encountering this disco window made me forget about the bus and I spent the next few minutes watching the colours and wondering if this was the true meaning of tripping the light fantastic. Fortunately I did manage to catch the bus in the end, though I was a bit disappointed that it hadn't transformed into a unicorn.
Through will run at &Model until 29th March and, if you're the curious sort, these photos show you what's on the other side of the window.
If you prefer your night time rainbows to be created entirely by magic look away now.
