Aire Place Studios CIC - Postcard Exhibition
Postcard project to create and share the work of 15 Leeds Artists. The postcards will be sent in a pack to 30 new artists along with a blank postcard for them to respond. All the resulting work will be shared online and as a physical exhibition when lockdown ends.
Courtney Spencer - Leeds Summer Group Show
Support to enable the 6th Leeds Summer Group Show, previously held at Left Bank Leeds, to become an online exhibition. Entries will submitted via open call and judged by a panel. Help guides on photographing artwork will be produced to assist entrants to take quality images.
Northern Rascals - Sunny Side: Through the Lens
The creation of a new dance and spoken word film exploring the effects of Covid-19 on the lives of young people. Two dancers will choreograph a new dance work with music and spoken word input from young people via zoom/Instagram.
Leeds Disabled People’s Organisation - BiHome
A series of accessible online public workshops aimed at using recyclable waste materials to create sculptures and structures, led by Anzir Boodoo, Rachel Rea and Steph Jo.
Dawn Woolley - Recycled Relics Sculpture Workshop
A series of three online family friendly sculpture workshops. Using household recycling and waste the workshops explore the social and environmental impact of consumerism. Images of the works created by participants will be turned into Facebook adverts and promoted to Leeds Audiences.
Ellie Harrison – Grief Series Online Remembrance Packs
The ongoing project The Grief Series will mobilise its activity resources into packs to be available for free download by anyone who might need help to express or bear witness to grief during the covid-19 crisis. The activities have been designed by artists from Leeds and Mexico.
Kerry Wright - ‘Flying with the Crows’ Explorative Project
Research and development for theatre maker Kerry Wright and two other artists to spend a week collaborating on initial explorations for a new piece of theatre that explores the welfare system, prison system and homelessness.
A song project for older people. Participants will be contacted by phone and the conversations between them and writer / musician Pete Spafford will form the basis of a new song about each person. The songs will be returned via CD to the participant and broadcast on the radio. The lyrics will also be printed in the Time To Shine magazine.
A crowdsourced community art exhibition on lampposts in South Leeds. Slung Low will organise up to 400 temporary art boards across the community so that residents can see them on their social distancing walks around their neighbourhood.
Taking two elements of the Constitutional programme Quantum Sauce (art+science+beer) and Loudmouth (spoken word and storytelling) online to create fortnightly free content for audiences.
A series of online creative writing sessions targeted at adults with mental health issues who are members of Leeds Mind or Arts Together and arts workers.
