Breeze Has Talent 2020 … the show must go on!
Written by Breeze  11/06/2020

Breeze has Talent is the city-wide talent competition that’s been showcasing the fantastic young artists and performers we’re lucky to have here in Leeds for the last 13 years. We’ve set the stage for over 1000 young people to make dreams a reality and, for some, been a stepping stone to greater things, such as Britain’s got Talent, The X Factor and The Voice Kids.

We’re pleased to announce Breeze has Talent is back for 2020 and auditions are now open! Open to anyone aged 8-18 and with any talent or skill; be it dancing, singing, circus skills, magic, baton twirling, hoola-hooping, stand-up comedy, spoken word poetry, singing, playing an instrument, gymnastics or anything else you’d like to show us, we want to hear from you.

The ongoing Covid-19 situation means we’ve made a few changes but that won’t stop us giving you a stage (or a screen) to perform on, and the chance to win some fantastic prizes, get professional mentoring and great performance opportunities at events across Leeds.

This year’s auditions will all be online and it’s really easy to get involved. How do I enter, I hear you say?

This year we’re asking you to film a video audition and upload the video to our new, private Facebook group. Our panel of expert judges will then give feedback and score your performance. Top scoring entries will go through to the first heat of the competition.

Once auditions have closed we’ll release information on how the heats will take place. We’ll be staying up to date with the latest guidance on Coronavirus and will ensure that however the heats are carried out everyone will be safe and sound.

The winner will perform at the Leeds City Centre Christmas light switch-on ceremony. There will also be cash prizes for the top 3 performers. But it’s vitally important to us, here at Breeze, that all BHT finalists feel like winners so every finalist has the opportunity to attend a boot camp weekender with professional artists to mentor them and will also have the opportunity to perform at other Breeze and Leeds city Council events, such as local Christmas light switch-on events, Leeds City Council Award Ceremonies and Breeze in the Park.

Breeze has Talent 2020 is here to showcase your talent and give you a platform to show the whole city your fantastic talents. We know Leeds has some of the most creative young performers in the whole country, so show us what you’ve got. The stage is yours.
