Family Ceilidh

An all-action, multi-generational, family-friendly ceilidh under our beautiful vaulted ceiling? Everyone is welcome, whether it’s your first or you’re an old-hand, York-based FiddlersWreck will have you dancing across the floor like a pro.

Nicky Kerslake (fiddle), Michael Jary (caller & concertina), and Nina Zella (piano) will be here to give you all the drive you need to make your feet want to dance, with explanations along the way and plenty of easy and fun dances, together with a few for the more experienced.

Movement Workshop: Connection & Belonging

Join us for this mindful workshop session at The Middle Floor.

This workshops offers an opportunity to connect, explore and replenish our sense of connection and belonging by drawing on a wide range of modalities – including authentic movement and creative expression, embodied imagination and guided reflection.

The session is ran by Astrid Schroeder MA, RSME, a Registered Somatic Movement Educator, Mindfulness & Meditation Teacher and dance movement facilitator with a background in psychology and somatic practice.

White Rose Early Dance at Temple Newsam

Enjoy White Rose Early Dance perform mid-17th century costumed dance in the stunning Picture Gallery.  The dancers will be accompanied by Leeds Waits.  

White Rose Early Dance is a historical dance group based in Huddersfield which meets once a month to learn dances from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries.  The dances have been researched and realised from contemporary manuscripts and publications.

Beginners/Improvers and Advanced/Professional Contemporary Dance Classes

Contemporary Dance Classes at Yorkshire Dance with Martin Henson DANCE. 

Beginners/Improvers every Tuesday 6.15 - 7.15pm. It's a challenging beginners class, but lots of fun. 

Advanced/Professional every Thursday 7 - 8pm. 

Both classes are loosely based on Cunningham Technique, but influenced by many other dance styles and my own creativity. 

The classes are challenging, fluid and full of performance. 

We're a friendly group so why not come and dance with us.

ACCA Dance Theatre are recruiting a Female Focus Group

ACCA are Leeds based dance theatre duo Anna Cabré-Verdiell Bosch and Charlotte Arnold. Led by two female-identifying creative leaders, ACCA makes work that reflects and comments on the contemporary society via funny, thought-provoking dance theatre performances and participation activities. Their style has a physical backbone, drawing on character and conceptuality to investigate the topics which inspire each project.
