Woolly Craft Workshops
8 Apr 2017 10:30am - 5pm
As part of the Spring Into Wool show, there's a great range of workshops which perfectly meets the show's theme of "inspiration and learning".
The workshops cover lots of wonderful woolly arts and crafts, including dry felting, wet felting, knitting, crochet and spinning.
There’s nothing quite like the joy that comes from learning a new skill and discovering that you can do things you've not done before! And there's the sheer fun and pleasure of being in a group and all learning together!
Here's a quick summary of the brilliant workshops on offer:
3D Needle Felting - learn how to sculpt with wool roving and felting needles to create an adorable 3D fox.
Crochet an Art Scarf - learn how to use long curly sheep locks with a simple crochet chain stitch to create a beautiful Art Scarf.
Make a colourful Spring Wreath - a free workshop in which you'll learn how to use rug hooking, proddy and wool quilling to make a colourful and everlasting Spring Wreath.
Spinning using a drop spindle - learn how to handle fibre and make your own yarn using the park and draft method of drop spindling.
Make a Felt Bowl - learn how to use a resist and a wet felting method to make an attractive felt bowl in a colour of your choice.
Make an Infinity Scarf - learn how to do "arm knitting" - no prior knitting knowledge is required, no needles, simply knit using only your arms!
Needle felting a landscape - learn how to create a beautiful landscape using needle felting.
Short rows knitting - a fantastic technique that should be in every knitter's arsenal. They provide shaping, structure and some great design features.
