St Edmunds Church

North Park Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 1JN

Twelve months ago, Cantabile commissioned London-based composer Christopher Schlechte-Bond to create a choral work as a celebration of their tenth anniversary year. This new work 'The Juggler' gives musical expression to the choir's joy of singing, their passion for music making together and commitment to contemporary choral music.

The programme will also include music from the 12th to the 21st centuries and feature works that were forward-looking in their day and embodied new musical ideas and forms of expression:

  • Magnificat: Arvo Pärt
  • If Ye Love Me: Thomas Tallis
  • Linden Lea: Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • Mille Regretz: Josquin des Prez
  • Tourdion: anon
  • Chorales BWV 227 (Jesu, meine Freude) Bach
  • O Vos Omnes: Tomas Luis de Victoria
  • There Was a Tree: Gustav Holst
  • Lets Do It: Cole Porter

The concert will include a performance by special guest, pianist Jenny Martins
