Kirkstall Abbey

Explore the peaceful Abbey grounds and following a route specially designed to encourage reflection and with reference to practices observed by the Cistercian monks who lived there.

Simply pick up a meditative walks booklet for free from our visitor centre to begin your walk. 

The route has been designed by Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre, Leeds, in consultation with the curatorial staff at Leeds Museums  and Galleries.

Wheelchair Access

The visitor centre is fully accessible and so are most of the grounds. Please note that Kirkstall Abbey is a heritage site and some areas of the grounds are cobbled and/or uneven.
