Protest definition: The legal freedom, right and ability to voice discontent and fuel change.

Protest can be seen as a privilege, for in the past and in many places around the world today there is no safe space where dissatisfaction can be voiced or people can mobilise to stop racial, sexual, economic, gendered or political prejudices.  The everyday freedoms which we may take for granted today have been fought for over hundreds of years by resilient, determined and impassioned individuals.

This display focuses on a few examples of those struggling within Leeds to make a difference.

This exhibition is curated by the Preservative Party. We are a group of young people aged 14 to 24 who have a passion for history. We try to give a different perspective on history and give a voice to those who matter.
