Memory Matinees: Singin’ in the Rain
12 Feb 2018 2pm
This is the first in a new season of matinees at the Picture House which have been designed to be inclusive to those living with dementia as well as family members and carers. It is rooted in the idea that a trip to the cinema is a powerful way for people to reconnect with memories.
Everyone is welcome to attend these events and tickets are free. Free hot drinks will also be provided. Lights will be raised slightly and the sound level will be slightly lower than normal.
Our trained staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout but please note pastoral care is not provided, a friend, family member or carer must also attend.
Set in the late 1920s, this dazzling musical follows silent film star Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) as he navigates the birth of the sound age with the help of talented ingenue Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds).
