Experimental percussion ensemble, G·Bop Orchestra (Six Drummer Formation) - ‘Along with an often riotous sense of joy in diverse textures and rhythms bumping up against each other, the record conveys a palpable sense of group interaction’ - Abi Bliss, The Wire Magazine. August 2016. on Six Drummer Formation debut album 'Punctuations in Space'
This experimental percussive ensemble emerged from South London in autumn in 2013. Led by percussionist and composer Greta Eacott, the band has gone on to release two e.ps, their debut album punctuations in space (recorded in One Take in various non-studio settings) and toured in UK and Scandinavia, with a constantly mutating line-up featuring different combinations of players from across Europe. Their high tension acoustic live shows bring fresh and abstract musical ideas together with a clarity and direction, making the g·bop orchestra as at home touring with a pop band as they are in an art gallery.
Plus performances by:
"Post-everything-you-have-heard-before” - Jazz Special, Denmark.
The duo is born out of Copenhagen’s wide experimental underground scene.

Workshop by G Bop & Legroom @ Leeds University, 3-5pm: 'Spaces as Musical Material'
Alongside the event is a free workshop ‘Spaces as Musical Material’ (Leeds Uni) which will see participants make rhythmic and physical relationships to the space. Legroom also platform a new collaborative publication project with Psykick Dancehall, a Manchester based collaborative label and publisher. The publication will take the form of an installation responding to G-Bop Orchestra’s use of scores to physical explorations of space and rhythms.
Legroom explores the expanded field of dance and movement also within the contexts of other art forms opening up conversations regarding the uses of physicality within curation, collaboration and interdisciplinary practices using the spaces of established institutions as working and sharing space.
