An exhibition of Screenprints of Older Irish Women in local Leeds salons.
Growing up in rural Ireland as the daughter of a hairdresser, Bronagh Daly appreciated the importance of the weekly ‘wash and set’ for many of her mother’s customers. This exhibition of older Irish women in traditional Leeds salons, where Bronagh now resides, is a nod to a time gone by of blow drys and curlers where women get a chance to laugh, reminisce and lament their memories of Ireland and the loved ones they miss.
Most of the women featured in the exhibition were introduced to Bronagh during her time as a volunteer with the social care charity Irish Health and Homes.
The exhibition will continue until 16th March 2018.
Please check times with event organiser for any last minute changes.
