What does it mean to grow old? When and how…
21 Apr 2018 - 17 Jun 2018
Collections; a collaborative project founded in 2015 by mixed media artist Josie Beszant, printmaker Hester Cox and ceramicist Charlotte Morrison.
The project looks at collections; what, how and why we and other people collect things. What is then done with the collected objects and how they are displayed and how meaning is carried with the collection. They are working as individual artists and collaboratively, sharing thoughts, objects and themes.
The artists have responded directly to the Sunny Bank Mills Archive to create work for the exhibition.
Josie Beszant, Hester Cox and Charlotte Morrison will be joined at this show by: Jennie McCall, Kate Bowles, Sue Brown, Ann Povey, Joanna Wakefield and Jane Bevan.
Please join us in the gallery on Sunday 29th April 1-3pm to meet the artists and celebrate the opening of our new show, Collections. Hester Cox will also be demonstrating her collagraph printmaking techniques. Rose & Brown Vintage Leeds Furniture and Home Fair will also be taking place in the Finishing Room and our textile Archive will be open for you to visit.
Please check times with event organiser for any last minute changes.
