On the Edge is looking for volunteers to help steward its festival events from 20th - 22nd July. Its a great opportunity to get involved in a Leeds event thats combines live music, theatre, visual art, poetry and dance. The event is based at Temple Works and includes market stalls, workshops and performance from the comical to the classical to the downright strange!
This year West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra are partnering up with Leeds’ Hip Hop outfit Invizible Circle to provide one of the highlights of this year’s On the Edge festival. The Orchestra, which seeks to “take classical music to people and places other orchestras don’t reach,” will be performing a mixture of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert as part of the Classical Hip Hop Fusion event. The event will headline the On the Edge line-up for Saturday 21st July and will see pieces from wind and string ensembles interspersed with Progressive Rap, Beat Box, and Scratching by young artists from Invizible Circle. Live Graffiti Arts will be there during the day, with Freestyle and Body Popping - an event not to be missed! We'll also have loads of live music, a poetry slam, theatre, a magician and ooooarrrr who could forget the Rowdy Pirate’s Bar?
So if you want to get some event experience under your belt and and you're interested in volunteering at the festival please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Weekend Tickets for On the Edge 2012 (covering all events on Saturday and Sunday) cost £5 and are available from www.ontheedge2012.eventbrite.com or from Jumbo Records
