As one of the largest illuminated events in the country, expectations for Light Night Leeds 2018 are high and this year’s line-up is set to be the best ever.
Featuring a spectacular parade full of drumming, neon flowers, and suffragette puppets; a digital mirror installation in Leeds Art Gallery; a circus big top at Kirkgate Market; glowing humanoids in the Victoria Quarter, and a high wire performance over Trinity - we simply can’t wait.
Do you fancy getting first-hand experience of being part of a large scale multi-art festival? There’s still time to join the volunteering team and you can apply now via curatorspace.
Diana volunteered with us in 2017, and here’s what she had to say:
"I've volunteered at Light Night for the last two years and it's always such a wonderful, exciting and fun experience every time. It really is such an incredible event that brings art and people together in the most amazing way. Not only do you get a behind the scenes look at some of the most intense and passionate work from the creative world’s finest artists, but you also get to be there to interact with the public and witness their excitement and be excited with them!
To me, Light Night isn't just a festival every year that people attend, sometimes it's one that people don't know about that they just stumble into - and in a way, that's even better! It's a night where you can discover, enjoy and experience all the wonderful installations, exhibitions, dance music and street performances that this multi-arts marvel has to offer in Leeds, and to me, it means taking it from just a great night out, to a memorable one."
Light Night Leeds is on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October 2018.
